I think our work quality would greatly improve if we just "slow-down" some. Our quantity of work demands that most tasks are at least slightly rushed, leaving little time for thorough QA or documentation. As a result, we often miss avoidable bugs and customer details are not clearly noted.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel that I am very fairly paid for a 40-hour a week job. But nobody is working 40 hours a week. Even the few days where I am less busy, I often still feel pressured to work and stay online because it is the expectation. As such, my compensation is not reflecting the 50-60 hours that is expected.
