Mostly that I am being paid the same as brand new people who were brought into a role that I have help build for a year while managing a larger team. As long as the promotion cycle goes according to plan, all is well.

I feel like I deserve higher pay, the strict timeline guidelines laid out around internal promotion make it seem like it may be quicker to look elsewhere rather than waiting 1-2 years in your role with no hope of promotion regardless of performance.
