Starbucks – 5 fantastic years with my coworkers/friends. I had 5 traumatic years with rude guests, homeless men terrorizing the cafe, a corporate office that would do anything they could to never leave the sanctuary of their office. The company is more reactive to the social climate than proactive. A shame. | Comparably

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

Be honest. Stop preaching about culture and be honest about the little pay for the hard work.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Because my coworkers and I were equally abused and undervalued, we could confide in one another about the abuse.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

I could imagine that if my coworkers received pay suitable for adults, they would be more likely to act like adults.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Turnover improvement may not be an imperative task driving the company to do right by their employees, but it's the priority that's keeping employees from trusting their corporate superiors. The disconnect is palpable from both an employee and a customer perspective.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

After Schultz stepped down, employees were not communicated to from corporate any more and marketing tactics became schemes fishing for more business without allowing proper labor hours to complete business tasks. One the side of social politics, they are a reactive company instead of proactive.
