My manager needs to be better about fixing the schedule and being respectful towards the shifts and the baristas and actually communicating major changes that occur within the store instead of blindsiding baristas at the last minute.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The highturnover that I see constantly reminds me of how undervalued i am. Everytime I'm given no help with promblems, I'm reminded. The fact that even as full time as a shift i still barely make enough to live on my own, still living paycheck to paycheck. Actual living wages, more vacation days!!

Most of my shifts we all get along and try to support each other. Two of the shift supervisors are absolutely amazing and will handle any problem to the best of their abilities.

My store in particular is generally understaffed for the sheer amount of business we do. It makes running a shift comfortably incredibly difficult. Because of this we've been having trouble maintaining a positive environment. When we're staffed appropriately everyone is much more comfortable.

What makes you most happy at work?
I love seeing my partners and just laughing with them. We still get the job done, but know how to have fun too. We still make sure every customer is greeted and served in a timely manner. Just enjoying a day at work makes the experience so much better for customers.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Employees are not paid appropriately. Raises are not granted based on tenure or experience. Our workload, standards and expectations are constantly increasing but no added incentive for employees in terms of wage increases or bonuses. Customers are aloud and encouraged to mistreat employees.

After Schultz stepped down, employees were not communicated to from corporate any more and marketing tactics became schemes fishing for more business without allowing proper labor hours to complete business tasks. One the side of social politics, they are a reactive company instead of proactive.
