The lack of policy is what also allows them to change instructions on a whim. There is a clear 'old boys club' mentality at the top. | Comparably

What makes you most happy at work?

Helping customers get through the most stressful times in their life: moving. Often there are alternatives if the customers preference is unavailable and can still help a family complete their move in efficiently.

What did you like most about the interview process?

They hire on the spot and have opportunities to grow in. The onboarding process is a series of online slideshow classes they have put together; however, these are often outdated and don't directly reflect current POS systems.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

The leadership does not know how to effectively disseminate information from the top down or they do this purposefully to limit their own liabilities. This causes unnecessary confusion to field workers and they perpetually fail team members with a lack of IT support. They would rather let it crash.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

They need to come up with known policies as opposed to quoting policies that are not readily shared from over 10 years ago that will be brought up months after starting. They also need to adhere to these policies and TRULY encourage teamwork as opposed to stifling communication and learning.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

They use salary positions to justify putting managers in a box and force them to work 80+ hours per week as their recruiting team does not help stores with hiring. Managers are expected to pick up any slack and run each store including covering 7 days a week for weeks on end and they barely train.
