Excellent work culture and people. Good freedom at work. Great work-life balance. Career progression opportunities are limited. Badly needs compensation revision, and reward/incentive programs that actually reward or incentivise.

Ensure pay parity within the team. Be more transparent about market risks due to AI. Strategise on how the company can be relevant beyond hype cycles around AI.

Proactive steps by management to look into industry payscales and changing the company's pay structure to match would be ideal. The current reality is that the push is coming from employees and employee exits, and even then the progress is sclerotic.

Compensation reviews, per market trends, are often requested but ignored. Training is given to explain why we're paid less. New hires with less experience get inflated titles, undervaluing existing team members. High retention offers are made when leaving, so why not pay fairly upfront?

Pay scales are long overdue for a revision. The standard response to this is always to "understand compensation structures". The issue is not a lack of understanding of the employees; when junior staffers in other companies make what senior staffers are being paid in Elsevier, no course can help.
