Absolutely everyone is invested in shared goals. Mutual help is a given. There is no internal competition. I know I can count on my collegues to help me achieve work goals, just as I am invested in helping them too
Salaries are still quite low for the industry standard, and not rising fast enough to help employees deal with the abrupt and steep surge in costs of living. This falls down really poorly with employees, especially considering Elsevier's profits year after year
It depends on whether we are talking about the leadership team at The Lancet or at Elsevier. While I feel that the leadership team of The Lancet is doing their utmost best for Lancet employees, I fear Elsevier management is a bit too far removed from the real issues for an effective leadership
