Nextdoor: Having the ability to do extra learning during work as opposed to never being able to improve myself as a developer. Then, using that new knowledge to improve our systems, architecture, etc.

The job itself is wonderful, the company is also wonderful. But the atmosphere at local office is like being in high school where the class bully is the teachers pet.

Chase Corporation: Rush jobs and long hours with little personal time. Merit increases and bonuses incredibly cheap for great performance ratings given. High turnover with no adjustment for reduced capacity of my team, and in fact an increase in workload with aggressive deadlines.

Sonder: Sonder began in Montreal, with a small customer service team. They worked double-duty throughout the entire pandemic and taught all of the new hires, but as soon as Sonder recovered from the pause in travel, all of these employees were laid off, because it's cheaper to hire in the Philippines.
