I absolutely adore my job and I'm so proud to work for Elsevier because of its reputation within the industry as a journal leader and because of their support to their staff. However, I don't know as yet whether my contract will be renewed because it is a 9mth temporary 'work from home' contract.
What makes you most happy at work?
My sense of achievement, that I've made a difference to someone else's day today and that I have played a part in maintaining the reputation of the company.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Me and Viv work amazingly well together and we compliment each others style of working, we're a team first and foremost and we work tirelessly for the greater good of us all.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I love the personable approach towards staff where you are celebrated as a person first and then an employee, people work for people and this approach is invaluable in creating a great place to work.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The private medical cover is great, as someone with a disability it can be really difficult to get cover without endless queries, this covers me without any of that - such a refreshing change to be treated like everyone else!
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The constant sense of value. You feel like a trusted and valued member of the team where you're input is as important as your colleagues, the culture is a supportive one where everything is designed to help everyone work well whatever their lifestyle.
