I have been with the company for 7 years and had a number of promotions to move from a Business Analyst role to a director level. Talent and hardwork is recognised and will be nurtured and stretch opportunities are encouraged. Elsevier now has a focus on doing the right thing in the right way

Originally joining Elsevier in a part-time capacity, I've been supported, encouraged and promoted multiple times. I have grown so much and still experience challenge and develop new skills every day. 7 years on, and now in a leadership position, I still enjoy a good work/life balance.

Inclusive and I feel comfortable to raise any thoughts I have, as long as they are done in a constructive way.

Kumsal's message that we should have integrity and be humble. There is a lot of emphasis on how we do things not just what we do.

We're really collaborative and whilst we have an ambitious roadmap we have autonomy to share the work and ensure we align the work with the skills we wish to develop.

A real desire to do the right thing. Whether that's deliver the right solution to put Elsevier in a strong position or coaching and supporting your colleagues to help them achieve their full potential.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

25 days holiday with the option to buy an additional 5 days (UK). Sharesave - the ability to save into a pot with the option at the end to buy RELX shares at a (potentially) reduced rate.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

I love our values of being humble and collaborative and seeing every interaction and as a learning and coaching opportunity. I look at the leaders of our country and think they can learn a lot from the leaders of Elsevier.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The feeling that our work supports researchers and health professionals to advance science and medicine to make the world a better place. That I can collaborate with areas doing different things and people are really keen to share what they are doing and why.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Holiday allowance is decent and there is the opportunity to buy additional days. Flexibility is supported and as long as I get my job done it is no problem to take a few hours in the middle of the day for a personal appointment. Sharesave is great too.
