Not the the best as a person of color. My previous manager treated me & a few others differently than the rest of the team. After finding a new position, the manager of my team was amazing. However, she was let go and new leadership took over. Now I feel like I am in the same environment as before.
What makes you most happy at work?
Being able to see and talk with my friends who can relate to me.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Honestly, I dont think they have any good qualities on my team so I am going to have to unfortunately say nothing.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Some of us help each other through the day. We connect because we feel marginalized so we share our stories during break or lunch times. They help the day go by.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
It is super laid back. The dress code and being able to not have to worry to much about dressing up helps a lot when it comes to coming to work.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I dont believe my team leaders show interest in our capabilities. They focus on trivial things such as telephone numbers in signatures to discredit you and your work. As a minority on my team, I dont feel as if I am treated the same as my counterparts. Additionally, I am overloaded with work.
