HealthStream – Challenging, often rewarding, always hoping, and often stressful. I took a large pay cut to come to the company because I wanted a smaller company and to have my own team. I've gotten those things but was not allowed to grow my own team (I inherited a team that was not qualified). Challenging. | Comparably

What makes you most happy at work?

Producing something professional and helpful. Getting it done!

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

planning with more detail, like including impact and risk instead of just satisfaction

What are some of the best things about your team?

I know they want to do what it takes to keep their job, they appreciate feeling responsible.

What do you like best about your company?

The best things are working hard, lots of accomplishments, not too much micro management, but mostly working from home.

What would you most like to see improved at your company?

Pay and resource allocation. It's hard to perform above and beyond when you're under resourced. Not meeting goals is very discouraging.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Not too much micro management which is good. We have way too much to do to thrive under a micro manager.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I put in 10-12 hour days regularly but am underpaid and under resourced. I feel I am doing the job of 1.5 ppl for the price of one underpaid person. If the work was shared with other resources or I was better rewarded I would feel more valued for my contribution.
