HealthStream has a systemic culture issue when it comes to working cross functionally. It's the only organization I've worked for that has internal team members who ignore emails from their peers or ask that you not reach out to other departments. At HSTM it's acceptable to not work as a team.

Sales leadership has completely fallen off. Had several extremely knowledgeable, hard-working and driven leaders. They have all left. The remaining leaders as a whole lack the ability to do what is necessary to have success.

HealthStream is below it's competitors in compensation pretty much across the board though I can't speak for the executives. The base salaries do not match the cost of living for their locations and salespeople do not even receive cost pf living increases.

I think as a tenured salesperson, the base is very low compared to similar companies. I think the base plus commission should be more in line with similar jobs.

This company offers a low base salary for a senior salesperson. That was fine when the commission structure was more generous. With commisions dropping to half of what they were in 2019 and no rise in base I feel they put the security of their sales team in jeopardy and increased turnover risk.

Though HealthStream's non competitive pay and bare bones 'benefits' will not attract or retain the best talent in the industry, the comradery amongst the teammates is strong and there are plenty opportunities to share ideas with your team.

Multiple levels of leadership were present at my interview which made me feel like they were invested in getting the right fit to lead my team. Also showed that the team I would be leading was important to the business.
