When I joined this company I thought I would stick for 3 years and then job hop somewhere else for a pay bump. But now I've been here for a decade and will never willingly leave. Usually it's dangerous to count on a company's loyalty, but I trust the CEO who gave millions from his own shares to us.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
In corporate software development, we have flex time as well as two work-from-home days per week.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Our daily work culture concretely reflects a set of well-defined company values that I believe in and support. We're idealistic. In general, people here are calm, reasonable, and compassionate.
What did you like most about the interview process?
In corporate software development we have a mix of behavioral question and technical skillset questions. We hire candidates who are good fits both technically and culturally. The technical skillset filter for entry-level developers is vary lax because we're fine with training new developers.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Executives regularly demonstrate basic humanity and common sense. Most have been with the company for many years and demonstrate long-term commitment to the company's prosperity. The executive team -- especially the CEO -- are prone to spectacular displays of how they value long-term employees.
What are some of the best things about your team?
In corporate software development, we have very high average tenure and retention. Consequently our devs know our systems, our standards and best practices, our market/customers, and they know how to work with each other. Most of them are unusually brilliant and highly dedicated serving our customer
What makes you most happy at work?
I have interesting problems to solve, and sometimes they're even challenging. My work has real impact on saving lives. If 0.1% of the nurses who have used a produce I've made save 0.1% more lives because of my work, then I've contributed to saving thousands of lives.
