I have remained an employee for 8 years due to the team of individuals that I have represented as a leader. Before that time a manager of mine was not let go even though he did not show up to work in the office until 12pm most days - our org leader knew. A current Director is known to do nothing.
What makes you most happy at work?
Imagining, defining and executing change initiatives.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
In the past, Mark has been very capable of toeing the line of being transparent and also thoughtful when speaking about company results and vision. I would love to see the same from a marketing executive.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The people who show up to meetings and that follow through on their responsibilities are the reason I am here; along with the love customers show for our product. My reports sincerely care about one another as well as achieving excellent results.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I have performed the duties of a 2nd line leader for over two years and have no career path to a Director title or compensation. I have made my manager aware of this and have been told that there is no chance of a change to this aside from attrition.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I love working with my direct reports and some of my peers. My reports are inspired by my leadership and I appreciate the energy and commitment they bring to their roles each day. Largely, my peers are also capable and diligent. That said, our former VP was admittedly inept at discipline of her EEs.
