Communication, transparency and replacing RSU compensation

Be transparent and responsive to employee feedback. I feel like there was so much negative USM feedback that was not acknowledged until almost a year later. The damage was already done with employee trust and relationship.

Being better at communication and making it clear that they have BOTH the customers best interests and employees best interest at the top of their mind. Need to also be better at unifying ALL teams. Product, engineering and field teams instead of product and engineering versus field

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
RSUs were taken away and we have not received adjustments though Leadership said we would have something prior to the PE sale. Compensation is not fair across genders and races. Example: I have many examples of white male colleagues with less relevant experience making more than females and POCs

My compensation seems fair with my company stock but once that runs out, my compensation would not be at market. I would feel better if my stock compensation was made up for with my salary.

Compensation is good however given the overall workload and expectations of us it should be better. Especially given how overall costs for everything has gone up but pay hasn't gone up accordingly.

I felt the line for Bonus cuts at Company level was low. Compensation for when the stocks were changed due to the change from public company to private was low. The switch of Business strat & subscription model took a big hit on all departments and all employees yet no additional $$ comp. was given

What are some of the best things about your team?
I like that my team works to stay connected and celebrates each other's wins and supports each other when we're overburdened. There is a true desire for us to succeed both as individuals and as a team.

Leadership needs to work on improving the overall culture. ICs are burnt out and the culture is negative making it unpleasant day-to-day

I like that there is a true desire for collaboration at Smartsheet; most teams are striving to be cross-departmental and cooperative, and are willing to share information and help each other find answers to key questions.

Clear compassion and caring for the workforce, replacement of the compensation taken away, Managers receiving more people leader training, more insight into other orgs outside of your own - create a 1 team 1 dream attitude
