I retired from my existing (government) job because of an excessively long commute and frustration with my job. I enjoy my job now, I'm good at it, and my commute is 2 miles. The job isn't easy, I could always use a raise, but overall I'm very happy and have no intentions of leaving.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I live two miles away, so I'm willing to sacrifice a little pay for no commute. I really like working here, enjoy the work, wish I got paid just a little more. I feel like my age is holding me back some, but overall I'm content.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Nobody says "That's not my job"

Being able to use my skills to accomplish difficult tasks

They really seem interested in the company's success, which I am as well

People are in general positive, upbeat, and we all feel good about doing our best

People are happy to be here and the skill level is in general very high

Being able to occasionally do tasks that are outside my job title without fear of reprimand...

They are all quality people with a good work ethic and positive attitude. We all get along well.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I retired from a government job which supposedly had very good benefits, but what AEVEX was able to offer me is measurably better
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I requested a certain rate of pay during the hiring process, AEVEX wouldn't budge from their initial offer, which is $6/hr under the top for my position. After 9 months I have not been late or had a single unexcused absence and have done excellent work. I feel I'm worth top pay for my position.
