Fast paced, meaningful work. Would be the perfect job if engineering wasn't as overworked as we currently are. Burnout is a real concern for top contributors including myself.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
Aevex at its core is a company that gets things done no matter what to provide effectively for the warfighter. Over the past years, this has deteriorated as more process/overhead has stopped the company from providing as much value and meaningful evolution of our products. This has been frustrating.
What makes you most happy at work?
Working on tough engineering problems.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Within pockets of the company, the work comes first and employees are unencumbered by management/process to get things done.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Team is incredibly smart and very collaborative. There is an understanding that the engineering comes first and this allows us to get more done.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Underpaid based on my contributions to Aevex as well as for a Software role which normally pay well and can often offer remote roles. People who report under me and/or contribute less make more money than I do.
