It's been a good experience overall. Beyond the extreme stress and lack of life balance, I've progressed myself throughout this time and have further shaped what I want from my career next steps.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Many are very motivated with pride in their outputs. Vast backgrounds which complement one another.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The openness of others dealing with similar stress and strains from the overly ambitious projects this company commits to. The primary positive is that it's pulled colleagues together to pull each other through difficulties.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There's a lack of support personnel in all functions and the company has committed to overly ambitious project time lines. Adequate staffing is required and realistic project work given current resource capability needs more attention. Otherwise the RIF's will happen more frequent voluntarily.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
This is the first job I've not received a bonus at in my 20 yr career. My salary is roughly 1 level below a comparable title receives at another comparable company. The previously offered perks that balanced out these things were removed, so I'm having a harder time justifying why I'm here.
