Co-workers are great, work is fun and enjoyable, promotions are slow, perks were taken away, no overtime pay even though we are pressured to work extra hours to meet deadlines we did not set which is causing burnout in our best engineers. I fear the no OT pay and reduced perks will cause an exodus
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I feel like my direct supervisor, chief engineer, program manager, and director are invested and support me personally and professionally.
What makes you most happy at work?
Being able to work on the entire development cycle of the product and wear a lot of hats in the engineering process from design, to test, verification, etc. Having ownership of what I am working on. Working with other people that are just as motivated as me
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
My performance consistently exceeds expectations which is recognized by my leadership and reflected in my reviews. I am rewarded with having to wait to receive a promotion till some arbitrary timeframe (end of year). You want to retain good engineers, reward them for their performance at any review
What are some of the best things about your team?
We all care and want to do a good job. We all work well together to collaborate to accomplish our common goal. I hope that the executive leadership understands that we have a amazing group of motivated and qualified engineers and reward them accordingly so that we dont lose these people
