How employees describe working at Comcast

Love it here at CNBC! Folks here are great

Review from IT Dept

If you are a "woman or person of color" (their words not mine) you will do well as you get into management. They literally have VP bonuses based on that. People should be hired based on qualifications. Race and Gender should not be something you are measured as an employee.

Review from Sales Dept

My overall experience is I like working here because of some of the relationships that I have formed and the benefits but I am not happy with the overall structure in how the company is ran on a day to day basis.

Review from Customer Support Dept

All of the benefits are great!

Review from Customer Support Dept

It has amazing benefits and they are even paying all the upfront cost of my college tuition

Comcast hires to fire and think nothing of being ethical. Leadership is uneducated and it is shocking the people whom they select for management positions who are not the best qualified . Slowly they are downsizing their employees as well and they continue to outsource employees from foreign countries. Payment counters Xfinity stores are a good example the new ones opening up are franchises. Those employees do not work for Comcast . With Comcast it is all about screwing anyone they can for a extra dollar.

  • this year they had a MASSIVE layoff from Main to North Carolina. All departments were impacted. In three years, I experienced three layoffs at Comcast. They are losing money fast

  • Comcast does it yearly especially to long term higher paid experienced employees. Its amazing to me me how many uneducated people this company has in higher leadership positions at the region and division levels and it shows as they surround themselves with other uneducated somewhat incompetent sycophants

Comcast has a professional office vibe. The company is committed to providing an inclusive environment that supports all levels with access to development and mentoring and promotes our differences as determining factors for success. Leadership, HR and trainers are connected and the company holds monthly town hall meetings to address business progress and celebrate employee growth. While our clubs help connect our communities, Comcast remains committed to others in need with Comcast Cares and United Way participation. Daily and weekly team huddles lead to elevations from bottom to top, and the culture has an "all-in" mindset when it comes to finding out directly from our customers what we are doing right and what we can do better! It's a fun, positive fast-paced environment that remains flexible and welcoming of change. This employee engagement leads to a higher customer experience, and I'm proud of the family I get to be a part of.

  • This depends on location, but in general everyone if friendly no matter which department or area, the amenities are comfortable and there is always capability to get away from your desk and work elsewhere if the occasion calls for it. The Philadelphia campus in particular has a few different buildings each with their own vibe, but the all share a laid back quality. Employees are generally excited to tackle challenges rather than reluctant.

  • It’s good. The people are the best coworkers ever.

Terrible. No confidence in leadership, frequent structural changes, and routine layoffs have everyone waiting to be let go. Poor decision making for the business, unrealistic expectations, and horrible new hires are destroying everything that had been built and driving us into the ground. It used to be a family like environment and now there are cliques all over the department causing severe exclusion, favoritism, and resentment.

philosophically great....locally they call it Cultcast. If you dont drink the koolaid you will not be there long

  • Company culture is a cult. As long as you tow the company line and cheer about everything, you’re looked upon favorably. Comcast wants to be like Apple so all the marketing and technology reflects that but operates internally like it is 1985.

Leadership is hit-or-miss, while there are some poorly placed managers and supervisors, there is also some great leaders at Comcast

  • Creating a team environment instead of talking bad about employees to certain few on their team. Don't bad mouth employees to employees.

  • My manager never engages with her team. Not even a hello, our supervisor on the other hand takes the time to speak to each individual.
