Coaching on team building, the art of giving feedback, recognizing teams and individuals for their hard work, transparent communication, aligned strategy.

They feel I.T. is a cost center and a burden. Comp is well below local industry standards. PM and TPM teams in I.T. are a joke and its a boys club. Be real. Take responsibility. Cull the bad even if its your team.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Lack of equitable sponsorship and promotional opportunities. Career advancement is not based on performance, it's based on networking and bullying employees into doing the work so leadership can take credit for it and continue to get promoted (very toxic). Offer employees cost of living wages.

Low pay for IT anywhere, let alone Issaquah, one of the highest cost of living (COL) anywhere. No bonus, no stock options, max 2.9% raise which doesn't come close to COL let alone a meaningful "raise". $500 max match for 401k yearly is the worst anywhere!!!

My friends who have a lower title, lower responsibilities have 20k higher comp plus stock and other perks we dont get here in Costco I.T.

As a manager in IT I am paid severely less then the market rate. Despite the bonus, and stock options, that don't get me close to a normal rate, 90% of my employees make more than me. I am undervalued for my skill set, and not fairly compensated for it. 20yrs and I am looking to leave the company.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
So slooow. Lots of lifers who came from pushing carts to IT, who can't do better anywhere else, and resent it if you think we should try to. They still live in caves apparently, because they haven't seen an improvement that was needed since then. Leadership doesn't care, doesn't do anything.

CEO to scrap Current I.T. Management all the way from the CIO down. And bring in outside talent to help the company from falling apart from the lack of value being derived from the I.T. division.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Leadership doesn't listen, so why bother. They can look at the last 4 "Engagement" surveys for what's wrong and what needs fixing. (even some how to) Not one item has been worked on let alone fixed.

CEO need to CULL all of IS/IT from the CIO down. They have been seen IT as a liability since the dot com boom. Its critical to have a well oiled and forward working IT division. It is not the case at Costco!
