The interviewing manager was very nice and more than willing to work with me and my hours whenever needed.
My coworkers are as demoralized as I am. Frequent yelling, pressure, and lecturing from lazy, unhelpful managers makes them not want to do their job. Fights and gossip are decently common.
There are two managers and three employees who I work with very well. We manage to have friendly and fun conversations, and the managers are helpful, and don't treat our need for help as an imposition.
The main night manager is a blatant and loud homophobe and transphobe. They carry a gun at all times, and act annoyed at any moment a carhop needs help, at all. A very unfriendly and emotionally draining work environment.
Half of the managers do nothing but sit around and talk, and complain if asked to do their job. They are frequently aggressive, loud, use shame tactics and work politics, and act as if they are above the rules and workings. I also encounter frequent homophobia and transphobia as an employee.
I need to feel like my managers want to work and make the store work efficiently. Instead I have children who I fear may snap at me for asking for so little as to clear a screen. One manager in particular also carries a firearm at all times, and has led me to fear for my life should I speak up.
