Working in food service is what it is but my general manager is difficult to work with.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Many of us are sympathetic when things are difficult.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

My general manager doesn't care about following rules and cheats to make our times look better. This cheating makes everything disorderly and confusing for both employees and guests alike.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I just want my managers and higher-ups to listen to our concerns, a lot of people don't believe workers like us deserve the minimum wage and I've known managers who felt the same way.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

I would prefer if our location wasn't so understaffed, my manager makes sure to keep the schedule light because she wants low labor but whenever we get a rush nobody is prepared. I've also worked with kitchen staff who cut corners preparing food, serving bad food is incredibly embarrassing

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

I have many coworkers who are wonderful at their jobs but I also meet many who aren't interested in doing their best or even the bare minimum. My managers need to be more careful about new hires because it's made clear when someone is hired to be a friend instead of a coworker.
