It can be stressful but challenging. For the most part, I feel supported and appreciated. My biggest issue is not having enough time to do what I feel I should be doing as a Director to support my staff. There are too many competing priorities and I'm not close to reaching my productivity target.
What makes you most happy at work?
Learning new things from my colleagues and completing complicated projects.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Their willingness to collaborate, consider my opinions, and offer their own. I appreciate when others provide alternative viewpoints that I didn't otherwise consider.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Caring for others, collaborating, and forming a community where we can rely on each other. When I am out, I trust that others are taking care of my clients and projects.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The flexibility in my work hours/schedule is key because I have a daughter in elementary school that can have unpredictable schedules. The unlimited PTO is great, but only because of the willingness of my supervisor and leadership team to support me taking time off.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My immediate leadership team (Sr. Director supervisor and VP) seem to be sincerely invested in the company and staff. I feel comfortable going to them with questions and concerns. The higher-level leadership team (up to the CEO) seem to care about the people as well as the numbers.
