Asked to all employees at T-Mobile

  • I just asked my manager for a promotion after a few months and he agreed. I got hired as a mid level motion designer, that's what the position was, but going in I was already senior level based on my years of experience and skill set. After a few months, and seeing everyone's work and finding out other senior team member's experience and skills were lower than mine, it was obvious I am the most experienced and skilled person on the team. The senior members on the team even kept saying outright to my manager and to me that if they're senior, I should be director. So, I asked for a promotion after a few months and just got one. In my case, they just hired someone overqualified for a lower level position and T-Mobile listens and understands, so I got promoted.

  • You have to identify what you want to be and make a plan to get their if you want to promote in place otherwise you just apply for roles your interested in

  • There are a few pathways to promotions. One is the VOT process ("Valuing Our Talent") which is an HR program for management to issue raises and to promote employees. Each department is given only a few (like 1-2) spots per year for promoting employees, similarly, there is a dollar amount provided for raises. These spots are hotly contested within departments. If a manager really wants to promote an employee and VOT is not a possibility, they can repurpose an open position. It works like this: employee A should be promoted, so their manager has them apply for an open job that also reports to that manager. Employee A gets a pass-through interview process and promoted to the new level. The manager then opens a backfill position for the original role. The last way to get promoted to apply for another job within the company. Roles (at least in technology) go: Product Engineer > Senior Engineer > Principal Engineer > Member of Technical Staff. Each bump is at least 5 years.

  • Know your Manager well and work for them.. You will be next manager very soon

  • Be patient. You're learning a lot the first 30 days so be patient with the learning process. And make sure you always "listen" to what the customer is telling you, not what you think they may be saying.

  • The customer service was remarkable! I switched my family over and was able to get discounts on phones. Nicole in Los Lunas also went above and beyond by filling out our information so that we could get a reimbursement right away. Now when I need help in any way that’s my go to.????????????

  • Great pay, benefits, bonus, great environment,

  • The question should be why haven’t you applied yet? If you are a people person and you like to talk, here is the best job for you. Use your skills in something that is exciting to do. Let talk about phones that everyone needs and give them what they are looking for. You have music, laughter, and you get to meet great people. Plus you get a great benefit package to go along with it. See I have worked for businesses for years and never had insurance, cause it always cost me my whole paycheck. Not at T-Mobile. T-Mobile also places family first. To me that is important!!! You can’t always predict what is going to happen, but having employment that understands is a great benefit all into itself. My last job I have no insurance cause it would have cost me 280 a paycheck for me and my family. No PT , 1 a week off per year I worked their for vacations. No paid holidays. So I worked for 4 years and I was able to take a 4 day vacation. No fun in that! I had no 401k. I

  • Very laid back, and chill

  • Well our manager is always working hard to find new ways to get customers to come into our location. This has to be a little stressful for him. Our store is very slow right now so he is always working on new ways to bring customers in. Even tho our manager still uplifts our team! He defends us. Not sure how that is going but he has our back!

  • What you make it.
