TP – Was really strong at the outset, based on the leadership of Alan Truitt. Since his untimely death we have pivoted to focusing on internal politics and LinkedIn. Today I don't feel like a valued member of the BD team, despite much success over the years. I expect a drastic cut in BD resources Q323 | Comparably

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Our Leadership position on many fronts.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Hire better! We are ramping so quickly in BD that we are hiring lousy talent. Used to be TP BD was an All-Star team, but you can no longer say that.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

We have pending incentive compensation issues that are top[ of mind as individual contributors, but leadership places no urgency on same, which is really disappointing. As Sales people we depend on incentive compensation for motivation and when our efforts are devalued it really dampens our desire.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Focusing more externally and make it less about internal meetings and presenting to each other. I was recently told by a Leader that they spend more time preparing for internal meetings than any other function in their job. Leadership spins the tale so they don't draw DJ's ire, and reality wanes.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

The level of talent on the Leadership team is waning and folks are more interested in how they are perceived internally than driving the right behavior to win new business and keep what we have. We are so focused on internally many on the Leadership team don't have time to strategize on new logos.
