I overperformed in my department, and when I burned out and could no longer physically or mentally perform the way management wanted me to, I was treated like a slacker. Management on my crew plays favourites and doesn't make anyone who isn't buddy-buddy with them feel appreciated or valued.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Some coworkers play video games with our manager off the clock; they receive preferential treatment and seeming lack of consequences (for moving extremely slowly, putting things in the wrong location, using derogatory language etc). They need to be held to the same standard as everyone else.
What did you like most about the interview process?
There was functionally no interview process. This has the pro of applicants being hired and onboarded quickly; it also has the cons of denying applicants the opportunity to see if the company will be a good fit and denying management the opportunity to weed out applicants who aren't good fits.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I spent 6 months with 1 other person doing work that is now done by at least 3 people; when I could no longer perform at that level due to repeated stress injury and burnout, I was brought into an office and asked how 'we' could get me back to working like I had been. Better management is needed.
