It's a generic retail job. I've been there long enough to know everything about my job and many others and I could be effective in management by now but there's not really been room to promote. There's good & bad days and people and you have to grind til you get your work done and enjoy weekends.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I like that I eventually got one. I had to call and ask a few times but it happened rather quickly after I got a call back.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They allow us certain freedoms with our schedules and are understanding when we can't make it to work or can't do a task they want us to do.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Every other payday we get free food in the break room and it brings people together a bit more, especially if it tastes good. Everybody looks forward to it.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The team works well together for the most part and most of us are willing to pick up the slack for others when they aren't feeling well. Also most of us are good at multiple things so it helps when we're constantly understaffed.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel like I do way more work than I should for my pay grade. They don't have enough people to do the work yet they still have to have the work done by the same time and they don't allow overtime and it's just not possible every day. They keep switching people around too.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I & others are overworked and underpaid. They don't plan to hire more people to help and we still have heavy work loads. For me personally I'm not feeling mentally challenged at all and it's a dead end job and I'm in a pit and I'm stuck there. Better pay and working conditions would help.
