Recognizing the needs of our particular business unit and how they are different from the rest of the company. Treating employees like people and not numbers. Realizing that retention in our particular field is vital to our unit's long-term success. Stop putting level 1 managers in the line of fire.

My equals at other organizations make nearly 30% more than I do, but in the past the work environment here has been so positive that I didn't mind the lower pay. However, I'm now repeatedly asked to defend harmful company policy, and my relationships within the company are deteriorating as a result.
