Coming from a small agency, a larger organization has given me a certain amount of security that I didn't previously have, for which I'm grateful. I generally like what I do but am roadblocked so often that it's hard to feel accomplished. Frankly surprised how much I feel dismissed as a woman here.

I've finally found a good groove where I can feel confident that others trust me to take an idea and run with it. I love that autonomy. I'm occasionally frustrated by the lack of proactivity of others. Some people just need to know what their KPIs are and be told what to do. Others don't. Mixed bag.

I started off in a business unit that had different values than the one that I'm in now, so I think it really matters what team you land with. If you're working with a segment market, sales is the only team that seems to matter to executives. On the technology teams I feel highly valued and heard.

Having my good ideas heard, enacted, and acknowledged. Seeing people learn, grow, and subsequently lead. Having engaged co-workers. Getting things done without a barrage of roadblocks.

They're people I genuinely enjoy being around. In some ways I don't feel as crazy because they're usually confused about the lack of clarity going on from leadership.

I believe I'm performing duties and providing leadership above my pay grade. I don't think we should be required to come to the office now that the rest of the world has shifted with this.

I'm aware of the same role at other companies with higher paying tiers. Between inflation, the money spent on gas to satisfy the hybrid requirement, and the logistics involved in childcare, I'd at least like the financial burden to be lessened.

I have responsibilities and skills above my pay grade but because I was hired in at a specific level, I can only continue on the same consecutive level of promotions and pay. I know from research that I could be paid much higher at another company for the work I'm doing.
