Very mixed. My current experience is overall positive, but for years it was hellish when I was in a different position here. Some managers are great, but others lie to your face, and either through incompetence or malice or some combination of both, actively work to keep you from moving ahead.

Act on what employees are telling you for what they need instead of dismissing and patronizing them. Let us keep our desks, don't try to fight against our union contract.

What kind of question is this, why is work supposed to make me happy? It's labor, it's what I need to do to afford a home and have food to eat. Just because I'm good at my job doesn't mean I find personal satisfaction from it. That's what hobbies, friends and family are for.
