I make above minimum wage in a poor area of the country where jobs are scarce. I can borrow from my 401k if I get in a bind, I have decent health insurance, I accrue PTO at a good rate, and we get quarterly bonuses.
I really enjoy my job. I care about my coworkers, I care about my assigned areas. There is always something to do, so I'm never bored. We have a good atmosphere and we all do our best. If I'm having a bad day, my coworkers step up.
We all work together. I know a lot of stores have an issue with team work, but my store runs pretty smoothly. If one of us gets behind, we can rely on our team to help us catch up. There is good communication and good attitudes.
Company wide there are a lot of issues. A lot of penny pinching and blame gaming. At my store level, however, we try to lift each other up. We focus on our strengths and work out our weaknesses. Our managers encourage us and have our backs.
