Working within the US organization is gratifying. When working globally, some of the cultural differences around decision making can be a challenge, but I am grateful for the ability to be involved. Helps keep my mind sharp
I have been at many companies and am now approach my longest stint at 8 years. The products we create make a difference in the world. And as I have mentioned the diversity and humor of the teams is something l look forward to every day
Early on it became clear that this was a 'different' place to work. The diversity, collaboration, and intelligence of the team have kept me challenged and intrigued. The adage "it's not the problem, but your attitude about the problem" comes to mind. We do keep a positive attitude!
A well supported, diverse and inquisitive culture
Within the Americas, a sense of purpose
Cohesive, smart, diverse, respectful, resourceful, explorers
Participation in the company's success through their bonus system
Intelligent, varied interests, collaborative, engaged.
no opportunities for career advancement
For the most part, the US leadership team is accessible
Passion and Engagement. Some more words to make the red box go away
Interacting with my co-workers, in general a jovial atmosphere, some very interesting technical challenges
Transparent and engaged and other empty words to say more than is needed beyond Transparent and Engaged.
Same desire to succeed as I have. Good attitude, even when faced with fallout from quarantine and economic slowdown
Tight cohesive team of highly skilled individual capable of independent thought and action, while still working in a cross-functional manner.
No one thing stands out. Compensation, both direct and indirect, is regionally commensurate (although what that will mean post-quarantine will be interesting).
Specifically, the sense of 'team'. We're careful about who we hire (sometimes to our detriment) and part of that process is team fit.
Within the US operation, there are a few things that standout: gender diversity, willingness to take vetted risks, largely transparent, most casual work environment
Availability. If you ask for time with them it is almost always accommodated. Transparency. Where possible the leadership team shares goals and objectives. Consistent. All members share a consistent message to the organization
Challenging work discovering solutions. I often find myself reaching the 'flow' state where the work is engaging. Second is our teams ability to stay cohesive even in the face of quarantine. Speaks volumes about the relationships built working together
Our selection process has been very good at finding motivated, focused, and, above all, collaborative individuals. I don't always agree with a style, strategy, or approach. However, I DO respect the thinking that goes into those actions and decisions. Very open minded culture, almost to a fault.
