I enjoy working with my team but Global leadership needs to reevaluate how much influence they should be exerting into areas when they don't seem to be receptive to consistent feedback that may be contrary to their vision

There has been an extreme lack of product innovation over the last few years and we have fallen behind the competition.

The company culture is based on a guiding principal which is very meaningful - helping moms achieve success through their breastfeeding journey

most efforts are done with consideration of impact to the broader business; we all genuinely get along and enjoy spending time with each other and helping each other

They are experienced, knowledgeable, and care about the entire business, not just their own unique area of responsibility. They recognize that's what's good for them is likely good for the entire team

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

The leadership team is brand new and needs to truly learn the intricacies of the business and most importantly, that the US market is unique and cannot be treated exactly as other global business units. What works in China may not be right for the US.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

There is a clear lack of timeliness concerning new product development and speed to market for new items is very much behind the competition. Recent new product focus has been on items that could be deemed "outside" of Medela's core strengths, i.e. pacifiers and intimate apparel
