Aimbridge Hospitality – As a long term employee, I have seen it all - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Right now it is a bit ugly, but that means the good part will come around again, I hope. My heart is invested here, but I feel very extremely used & taken advantage of this year and I'm hoping they make it right again. | Comparably

Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

It is an amazing workplace when there is good leadership in place, but turnover has been an issue this past year. Company is owned by one entity, managed by another, has local on site leadership plus an HOA and others demanding differing priorities, making it difficult at times to know what to do.

What makes you most happy at work?

Feeling of accomplishment when things go smoothly!

What are some of the best things about your team?

Dedicated and focused on customer satisfaction.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Luxury standards when they are met are a lovely thing to behold.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Easy to get along with and a fun group. Driven to get things done.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Too many positions eliminated and consolidated this past year, putting pressure on those remaining to work so hard for pay that is not commensurate with demands.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

It is the general consensus here that the company is focused more on making money and keeping the bottom line tight than caring about employees. The GM seems disconnected from the workers and everyone here thinks he would sacrifice anyone at any time so that he can get his bonus. Hire empathetic GM!

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

We have very good people working very hard to keep the place afloat. It has a very nice appearance. Benefits are good. We actually do get a free lunch, not many can say that. We will fight to bring the company back to what it once was when we were owned and operated independently.

What are some of the best things about your team?

The team is great! We have a hive mind when it comes to taking care of things and work hard even when we're not being treated fairly. Everyone keeps a pretty good attitude considering how terrible the sentiment is here right now. I feel like this place is riding on a wave of the workers' dedication.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Wow, simple math. The last person who held my position had an executive director title and bonus structure level & made a base pay of $72,000 more than I am and I am doing his job AND my job, thanks to "restructuring." I am not being compensated fairly. They also made this dept head title "Manager."

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

As stated, we are all overworked due to the elimination of positions and hiring restrictions and we're seasonal. I would love it if our people were paid in a way to reflect that & help people budget, as the holidays are when we lack in the ability to give people hours and it's then they need them.
