This was my first real job right out of University where I could actually apply my education and I think I may have lucked out. The culture is fantastic. I've learned so much in what feels like such a short time.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Leadership team are all technically savvy. There's no classic "middle-manager" type that gives you an impossible task and then later complains that the work is taking too long.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We don't hire 1000 new grads only to layoff 99% of them in the lean times. The teams are cooperative and committed to helping members grow professionally. Because we all understand that our job is a team effort.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
No one is a snob. If you happen to not know something, you're not derided or made to feel inferior. I haven't met anyone here with a ego the size of Texas or the moon. Everyone is really down to Earth.
What makes you most happy at work?
The fact I have my own office. And the campus cafeteria might actually be the best restaurant in town. Aside from those perks, the work is intellectually rewarding. I can see my growth from when I first started to where I'm at now.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Healthcare. Covers eye-exams and dental too! Not sure if that's abnormal but colleagues of mine that work for other tech company don't even get basic insurance through there place of work. Pay is reasonable too. I can live comfortably in the area I'm required to work.
