The Technology team is generally great to work for, but I often feel we are undervalued within the wider business. It is next to impossible to recruit good senior engineers due to the poor benefits compared to other employers in the City of London, who can easily offer double the base salary we do.

My manager. The Software Engineers I work with. Working from home full time.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
There is no bullying or abuse. We are allowed to make technical choices without too much bureaucracy.
What makes you most happy at work?
Helping others to do a good job. Removing obstacles from the work my teams do. Making people feel like someone cares about them and their work.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Stop pretending they're managing a sports team and recognise we are a technology company, and that we need to focus on attracting the best engineering talent to deliver innovative solutions.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Well below market rate for engineering roles. There always seems to be money found to hire more Salesmen and Product Owners, but all the engineering squads in the UK are under staffed and under paid. We are continually asked to deliver more functionality with fewer people.
