Working with people that have the same drive as myself. We share similar values and work ethic. There are 5 of us Dept. Supervisors that keep our store afloat. We depend on eachother.
Knowing that I have a positive impact with my customers and associates that come to me for answers. I have customers that followed me when switching from Lowes. I have associates that come to me because I know something about everything in our store.
I watch fellow Dept. Heads do less and get paid more than those that work hard and actually bring value to Home Depot just because of personal friendships. There should be individuals from the corporate offices that come in and do Supervisor and up raises.
In our store we have some Department supervisors that are hungry and want to advance and we really care about our customers and the quality of service we provide to our customers and associates. We really enjoy helping people not just at work but in our community. We depend on one another.
Need to get better at qualifying the individual that gets the promotions and raises. There is still to much of the "good ole boy" or "the friend of a friend" in the hiring and promotion process. I've been lied to since coming to the Home Depot about being put up to RMA. It's been 3 years now.
The interview process so easy and the questions were relatable to work and experiences. The only problem I had was that my final interview with the Store manager and he lied to me in the offer and I failed to get in writing. I love what I do but some practices and personnel need to change.
