I work nights now and everyone does their share of the work. So it's great working with other people who work hard and can keep up.
Communication is key and if the day time shift did their part in each department then it wouldn't be all on the backs of the night crew.
Interviewing was fine but online applications go through corporate before they go to the store itself and it sometimes takes a long time to know if you got hired or not.
Sometimes customers don't get what they need because associates don't offer to look in the overheads for more product or they aren't in their respective department keeping an eye on customers.
Even as a part time associate I had dental and vision coverage. now I get health insurance also as a full time associate. Plus minimum wage for home depot is above state wages.
We have a good store manager. She is always open to hear issues or concerns. The front end wasn't that great when I was a cashier but garden and plumbing both were pretty good. Good dh in each one. My dh in plumbing actually recommended me for my current department. Freight team dh seems good.
