Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

Overall, bad. They laid me off in the middle of the pandemic, then brought me back for worse compensation and we continue to short staff our development teams so that they can only ever respond to emergencies.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Already described. This survey is becoming redundant

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Willing to change; not stuck in their ways.

What are some of the best things about your team?

We are small and close-knit (at the moment)

What makes you most happy at work?

The ability to help make changes at the company.

What are some of the best things about your team?

The people on my specific team are extremely competent and care about our mission.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Not enough people to help out, therefore it feels like I'm doing multiple jobs.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

People are willing to help and more importantly, people are willing to teach for long-term success.

What makes you most happy at work?

Having time to research issues and collaborating with all the different teams in order to solve problems.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

responding to messages and learning new processes rather than depending on others to do tasks in perpetuity.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I'm being paid less than I was before executive leadership failed and laid off 1/4 of the company in 2020.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

How knowledgeable a few of the people within the leadership team are about what we do in this very specific space.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

We're not solving root causes of technical problems within our supposed flagship product and expecting a new product to save us somehow.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

We treat entry level employees very well. Most companies are very rigid around how that level of employee is treated. Their schedules are flexible and they have access to snacks and we don't nag them until they burn out.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Listening to "front-line" employees about what they observe and be willing to INVEST time and money into finding solutions to problems instead of creating new products that encounter the same problems, which overall, costs more in both time and money in the end

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

The development department is slow to fix problems. Granted, most of the problems existed before a lot of them were employed here. We could work together better if they would stop dismissing problems and come walk a day in the shoes of customer-facing employees.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

I love the growth atmosphere and the fact that nobody ever tells me no when I find something in the company I'd like to fix. When I find a problem outside my job role and I have time to address it, I'm encouraged to fix it.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Having the different departments coordinate so that we can determine how products do not work the way they are intended before selling certain aspects to customers. This is why we have lost several customers this year. Basically, do a proof of concept before commiting limited resources.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Investing in figuring out root causes instead of giving the excuse that it costs too much to put "developer resources" into looking at problems because we'll have a new product later. If we don't learn from the current mistakes, we'll make them again on the new product/service.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

The tech team has no actual quality control by qualified software developers and has so much to clean up, they are never of any actual use to the rest of us. It takes months to solve simple problems such as creating error handlers where they failed to account for errors before.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

I need access to development resources so that I can properly set up accounts for success. Instead, I have to come up with manual solutions to most tasks that are not sustainable. Improvement: We don't work in a space with standard rules, so direct our development to create flexible, modular systems

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation: The 401k provider is inflexible with a small amount of investment options that have high expense ratios. Personal Value: I am used to train other people on their jobs, and generally do anything that nobody can figure out how to do. I am not doing my job alone, I'm doing several.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I was laid off and rehired with less PTO than before and with lower inflation-adjusted salary. All because the executive leadership of the company made a mistake in 2020; not me, which they made clear in writing. I would feel better about compensation if I was paid at least what I received before.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

the 401k plan is not very good. If we could have a more flexible 401k provider where we can make any decisions about our investments, that would be preferred. Ee are left with only a select group of high expense ratio mutual funds when I would simply like to invest it in a low-expense index fund
