The company's heart is in the right place, and that goes a long way. To the extent things aren't perfect, folks are trying really hard to do the best with what they have so there's a lot less to get frustrated or annoyed about compared with other places. It's really a great place to work.
When it goes up? The stock!
Working for a company that does things I can feel proud of
They're good communicators and they do a good job of modeling and otherwise promulgating the company's core values.
I can focus on my work without having to watch my back - folks are rowing in the same direction.
They seem to live/work/manage consistent with the corporate values - they're not just lip service, they're frequently referenced and consistently applied.
They stay consistent to the company's core values - employee first, fun, high integrity, innovative, and generally focused on common goals.
Everyone is rowing the boat in the same direction so I can focus on being good at my job rather than worrying about extraneous factors.
They are good people. You can rely upon them when times get tough, when times aren't tough, they're still people you'd want to get to know.
They're good people. The core values tend to resonate with folks who work here, so the people end up being notably committed, passionate, high-integrity, fun folks.
People care. They care about having a good culture, they care about the work, they care about *how* the work is done. Nobody gets things right all the time, but good intentions and a active work towards improving and getting things right goes a long way.
The leadership team takes their job as "leaders" seriously - they're there to model the company's values, to set direction, to communicate, to remove obstacles, and to develop and retain talent, and that mentality is pushed down the line. It's not about power and individual fiefdoms. #leadership
They do everything they can to make the environment great including being mindful of career paths, giving ample opportunities to expand skillsets, and supporting their people - and it's gotten better (yay bonus), but people tend to come and stay in spite of the compensation rather than because of it
The "core values" are an honest-to-goodness thing - "profitability" being defined as being in it for the long haul, operating with integrity, having fun.. when things like that are reinforced in hiring and in practice, you people get a sense of ownership and care about work being done the right way.
They try really hard - that sounds bad, but really, their hearts are in the right place so even if the food isn't free and the budget isn't unlimited you respect them for being creative and trying in so many different ways to emphasize the importance of culture at the company.
