It isn't prison, it's work. Let people talk, as long as the job is being done and nothing bad is being discussed. Happy coworkers make happy customers. No one likes robotic, quiet cashiers or baggers.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We get paid minimum wage with no vacations, working holidays, rain or shine. We get 10% off Kroger brand items which is okay, but most Kroger items are basic with little variety. Kroger rewards are bare minimum. I've had to cover shifts for others but get no recognition and no overtime pay.
