What are some of the best things about your team?Everyone is always willing to jump in and help. You never hear people say "that's not my job". If there's an issue you're struggling with, the team bands together to support you and resolve it.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?The leadership team worries too much about being "cool" and "fun" and not enough about how well everyone is performing. I don't want to hear bad jokes about sports, I want to hear about my job. They also need to learn when a meeting should be a meeting and when it should be an email.

In 2000, we set out from Charlotte, North Carolina with a simple mission in mind: transform the way companies pay their bills and free up their accounts payable (AP) from all that paperwork. We’ve grown quite a bit since then, continuously expanding our team, our footprint and our capabilities to become industry leaders in AP automation. We've become one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the US - with five offices and more than 1,500 teammates.
AvidXchange was founded in 2000 and its current CEO is Michael Praeger. Since its inception 26 years ago, AvidXchange has grown to 1600 employees.
THE AVIDXCHANGE FOUNDATION
In 2005, we formed the AvidXchange Foundation to help elementary school children impacted by hurricane Katrina. From then on, the AvidXchange Foundation has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and young adults where we work and live.
As a technology company, we focus heavily on empowering future generations to take advantage of today’s digital economy, which will be even more critical tomorrow. Across all our locations, we work with local community partners to provide career skills programming and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) curriculum to students of all ages.
But we don’t limit our efforts or those of our teammates to a singular mission. Corporate giving of all kinds is a part of AvidXchange’s DNA, and we enable employees who are passionate about giving back to the community – however is most meaningful to them – with paid volunteer time off.
Because engaging with our communities and striving to improve the quality of life for our teammates and neighbors is more than an opportunity – it’s our responsibility.
TECH RISING
In Charlotte, NC, where AvidXchange is headquartered, our signature program is Tech Rising. Tech Rising is a key initiative of the AvidXchange Foundation.
Without the proper equipment, access or understanding, so many people are unable to take advantage of the opportunities – or even meet the mandates – of today’s technology-based society.
Tech Rising brings together corporate partners and community organizations across the Queen City to help bridge the digital divide and create economic mobility opportunities for children and young adults.
Over the next three years, Tech Rising will help bridge the digital divide by:
- Providing refurbished laptops and sustained internet access to 5,000 Title I students.
- Providing STEAM curriculum for 16,000 students in Title I middle schools.
- Providing career skills training for 8,000 students in Title I high schools.
