It was pretty quick- through an external company. Didn't meet any Nordstrom employees until starting the job.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

They don't value contract workers and have a lengthy probationary period before you receive benefits such as healthcare and company discounts.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Make the environment more fun... value all your workers, including contractors. Provide decent benefits from the beginning- then employees will be more likely to stay.
