ELT doesnt engage with regular employees

Salary is fine, VCP is ok for individual contributors.

Lots of talking points, not as many tangible actions

Leadership doesnt seem to focus on employees just bottom line.

Overworked, underpaid. Been here about 20 years and just worry about layoffs.

Employees make the culture it cannot be forced as leadership tries to do.

The longevity of working together. Many team members have been together for 10+ years.

The culture here is fight or flight, just waiting for the next round of layoffs.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I've always been at the low end of the salary scale and no manager has ever been able to adjust.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The CULTURE is non existent. The new ELT throws that word around but Culture is earned and the last 5 years culture has gone down the tubes.
