Its a big corporation. Things move slowly, and there are low hanging fruit that are infrequently grabbed because of policy and workflows. Overall, Sabre is a place where if you like to work to live you'll be ok, but it is difficult to go above and beyond.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Equity incentives would be nice. I'd feel better about my TC if organizational friction wasn't the biggest hurdle in my day to day responsibilities.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Customer centricity. We can no longer rely on Sabre's tenure in the industry - we need to focus on solving problems and proving our value.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Organizational friction. Too much "This is the way that it is" or " We have always done it this way" attitudes from folks that have been at Sabre for decades.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Being more customer centric. Sabre isn't an industry leader anymore, so our constant talk of innovation and growth falls on deaf ears because we can't meet the customers current needs, let alone blaze a trail into the future.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I am in a role that bridges different departments. I love that there is a desire to have more cross organizational cooperation, but it is really difficult in the way some departments are structured. Project 25 helped some, but did not solve the problem entirely.
