The most positive thing about the work environment and culture is my coworkers.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team understand the struggles we each go through, whether it's a rude customer, the hours, the pay, or even the job itself. I like how we can make each other laugh in between shift changes.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
It's ridiculous to expect a worker to be the only cashier in the store (manager being backup doesn't count!) and having to stock at the same time. If we have to do the job of two people, then at least pay us that way.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The workload is too much. When you're the only one up front, you have to cashier, blow balloons (some people get as many as 20!), clean up around the register, get go-backs, and stock. It would be nice to have two cashiers working in the front.
