Communication from the top down is lacking. It seems to have gotten better over the last year, however the communication that trickles down or is told straight to us from the exec team is a bit out of touch with reality regarding pay structure and wanting us to work more with less employees.

The leadership team is getting better at setting goals, but they are still unclear and vague how the company is supposed to focus to achieve them - lots up for interpretation. Also, they need to be more relatable.

The constant re-orgs are doing nothing other than making employees feel unstable and insecure. We have executives and management making decisions on things that they are so far from having a good understanding on. Im concerned we are going to continue losing good, taleneted people in the tech space.

We have lost a lot of people due to severely low pay in comparison to market rates. Talent cannot justify staying at a company that underpays them even for the area and the industry. A small amount of movement seems to be happening, but this is many months after upper management was told of this.

Working hard and getting more than normal work done doesn't mean you exceed expections. Yearly reviews, always makes you a Solid Performer and when asking management about how to exceed expections it's too far of a reach. Feeling undervalued and never reaching that goal.

Lack of incentive to excel. Poor performance at the top levels is accepted and great performance is not rewarded. Why even try?

Too many projects/task and not enough employees to get the work done. Teams are working 50-60 hours a week. EMT wants changes without requirements documented, process reviews or discussions with SMEs to discuss possible solutions. Too many meetings. Unhappy employees stressing over the workload.

Being a member of the community: First Merchants is perceived as just a small local bank, which can be good in some ways, but that image could hold us back. I personally feel that we aren't growing as fast as we should be, and if you aren't growing, you're dying .

The high paced enviro prides workers on being flexible and on their ability to multitask. We forget this can produce terrible products and resentment towards mgmt. Corp America telling us we should love our jobs is a clever way of disguising burn out and normalizing being overworked and underpaid.
