Good medical benefits but could be cheaper

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We on average make the same or less than other jobs that require half the work and half the skill that we require to do our job. Then when you bring it up the bosses response is always "well just go work there then". Its sad really.

I feel under valued because i have been and employee for 5 years and we are hiring the same positions, unexperienced at my current pay rate.

i was promoted at my one year and was only given 1 raise instead of two unlike my coworker who was promoted. he got his raise and then a month later at his one year got another raise. it has currently been 9 months since my one year anniversary and i have not yet gotten a yearly raise

For the most part the lower level staff and managers are great. It's the way the manager treats people I have a hard time with. I am not a youngster I have owned my own business and been in management positions at Walmart.

Right now it's not great. Everyone's very tense at laurel park ingles. Managers are always on their phones disappearing or just rude to us.

The double standard present in my department allows poor workers to rise and excellent workers to be ignored or even "punished" by management simply because we want the job done correctly.

Nothing comes to mind. The only reason I've stayed is because after finding another job and handing in my two weeks notice did my store and department manager finally give me full time. I worked full-time hours for 4 yrs before they finally did something.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Managers dont care! Everyone comes in and does what they wish because they know they have job security since no one wants to work anymore. Half my store just comes in and gets high all day and apparently thats fine.

All we want are managers who appreciate the hard workers who keep the departments running. Stop keeping us from using our holidays and vacation time. Stop taking out your frustrations on our schedules. A manager shouldn't be able to use your schedule against you.
